Canon today announced their new digital creative camcorder that gives users unparalleled flexibility and freedom to express and share their passions – reflecting a growing consumer trend for self-expression through video.
The Legria mini, which combines an ultra-wide angle Canon lens, multifunctional vari-angle LCD and built-in stand, with a first-class HD video imaging system and seamless Wi-Fi connectivity, the LEGRIA mini is a brand new way to tell – and share – amazing stories.
Canon has equipped it with a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor, DIGIC DV 4 processor, 12.8-megapixel still shooter, stereo audio and 160 degree wide lens (170 degrees for stills). You’ll also get built-in WiFi, an iOS app, DLNA support, time-lapse, slow motion and mirror image recording and playback. Canon South Africa has offered no specific date, indicating a late September (17th) release and more importantly, a price if R3699. It’s definitely pitched towards social media addicts, but given the high-level recording chops of recent smartphones (and that price) it may run the risk of niche appeal. More like its GoPro friends?
