TomTom wants bikers to find their way home, should need be.

Apparently the biker community has been having problems finding their way home and – like many car drivers – to their holiday destinations. TomTom listened to their requests and finally came with a solution; The TomTom Rider which has been designed to give bikers the ability to choose the type of route they want to ride; from the fastest; to the most scenic; to their own personalised route.

The Rider is helluva different from the standard GPS. Firstly, one has to download the Tyre® interactive software onto any PC, here you can search, create and edit routes before uploading them to your Rider device. What happens should you wish to change route along the road? You’re fcuked my friend.

In addition, TomTom Rider includes a feature that feeds audio instructions directly to the user’s helmet via Bluetooth®, meaning riders can fully concentrate on the road ahead. The device also includes the introduction of a new 4.3’’ glove-friendly screen, which responds instantly to touch and is designed for riding in any weather conditions, including rain or bright sunlight. The device also comes with a new charging bike dock that turns it on or off with the ignition of the bike. Priced at R4499 you’ll get the GPS device alone, but top that with R900 and you’ve got yourself The Rider Premium which includes the Car Mount for the Rider and Bike Anti-theft Solution.
