If you’ve been receiving Emails, Letter and SMS notifications informing you that you’ve won a 2012 model Ford Fiesta in an ongoing ‘SAMSUNG MOBILE’ random selection lotto, then you went on to pay the anonymous person amounts totaling to R3 970 (or more) and still being told to wait 72 working days for your car to be delivered and 3 months later you’ve still not received your vehicle. Then don’t you think it’s safe to assume you’ve been hoaxed?
Samsung SA sent out a presser today warning consumers of a false competition and hoax that’s been running for a while now. This hoax is falsely using the Samsung name in an aim to entice consumers to deposit a nominal fee in order to claim the prize of a 2012 Model Ford Fiesta vehicle.
” It [the competition] is a hoax and we encourage consumers not to act on receipt of such a letter, despite the authentic look and feel of the documentation, which even includes a motor vehicle conveyance agreement. Please rather report this immediately to Samsung’s call centre on 0860 726 7864 so we can be kept abreast of the extent of the hoax” added Michelle Potgieter, Head of Corporate Marketing and Communications at Samsung Electronics South Africa.
