Bloem Show 2013

This past week and weekend I traded my iPhone, S4 and another Phablets valuables for something rather unusual for a change.

Well at least not unusual for me, but for this blog. As most Bloemites might know, the Bloem Show ended this past weekend and I was granted a special invite to attend this 2 week long show.

Honestly, curiosity got the better of me so I decided to peek at the Show and see what the rave is all about, after all, its on my way to/from work. However, when the Wifey piped up her usual “So what are you doing this weekend?” on Friday evening, instead of the usual “Oh, will meet up with the guys for some beer and sports” I expressly suggested (stated rather) we need to take the kids to the Show.

The Bloem Show opened up its gates (doors just won’t make sense) on the 25th until Saturday, 4 May the day I attended with my entire family.

This years’ theme was Wild Wild West, luckily for us it wasn’t mandotory to dress up for the occaison, we just had to come as we were but expect some cowboy/girl fun in the sun.

While I let the kids and their mother have it all in the food stalls, I made way to the MTN 4×4 course for some show-offs. Pity we were only allowed to act as passangers, this after I showed them a instagrammed pic of my Advanced outdoor driving Land Rover course certificate.

After a full day in the sun and exploring what locals and some big brands have to offer, we stayed a few minutes into the Lesedi FM and Hansa Pilsner show to catch ntate Sipho Hotstix Mabuse performing live.
