Review: Logitech Washable Keyboard

Well, for now we know that the hassle and worry that comes with  spilling a drink, whether it be tea, coffee or juice while busy typing that important assignment or pitch is a thing of the past. Thanks to Logitech’s Washable Keyboard (K310).

What’s even better is that is keyboard is not just waterproof and washable, it’s also spill proof and dust resistance making it ideal for hoarders, or rather, those that like keeping  ‘valuables’ for a later time when they might need them.

Fortunately, ‘Washable’ was not just another marketing stunt, the K310 (as illustrated in our test video below and pictures) is fully washable. The K310 has dedicated drainage holes in the back that lets all the access water and liquids out and helps with air drying it. In our test (as in the pictures and video) we had fears that the keyboard would slow down or buttons will start to stick. After our 2nd ‘dunk’ in water, the K310 was still working like its new. Real innovation there. The keyboard is also very quiet, than the normal standard keyboard we’re used to. Of course this is great, but might cause confusion to those used to hearing the clicking noses to confirm that you have indeed pressed on a key.

Of course, the keyboard is not just for those who are prone to eating in front of their PC’s, the keyboard is after all, washable, so it’s perfect for those who are obsessed with having a clean surface to work on. The user manual does warn that chemical cleansers like abrasives, alcohol, solvents, or detergents will need to be avoided, so it’s safer to just run it clean or some water with dishwashing liquid.

Besides all the ‘clean’ features, the K310 has a stylish, slim design. Coming in at 490 grams ad measuring at 17.2 x 5.5 –inches it’s the perfect office or home companion. The K310 features white keys floating over a black deck, the raised white keys have laser-printed lettering and are coated with an anti-UV finish, which Logitech claims will prevent fading and keep the K310 looking like new.

Setting up the K310 is a breeze, wait… There is no setting up, all one has to do is plug in the USB cord on your PC or Laptop and we’re ready to type. Logitech simplified lives by removing the need to add or download software to run setup and control settings.

At R599, the washable and clean features are enough to win us over we are of course obsessed with everything and anything clean. The K310 has a stylish, clean and slim look and design which will attract any eye.
