Magnificent Fridays kicked off in Bloemfontein

With the Olympic games only a few weeks away the Free State Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation will be hosting Magnificent Fridays, getting behind the South African Olympic team in their quest to bring home gold. This comes after Sport Minister, Fikile Mbalula called on South Africans in 2011 to get behind the Springboks ahead of the World Cup, and the athletes preparing for the All Africa Games, by flying the flag on Magnificent Fridays.

The department has planned to host activities in various communities in the Free State where the public will engage in soccer, netball and rugby matches. The first of Magnificent Fridays was this past Friday, 29 June 2012, im Windburg. The event started at Verkeerdevlei toll gate sensitizing the passing motorists and also issuing promotional material.
