My love for Nokia handsets was tarnished when nokia atarted using the same layout and feel for its devices. Regardless whether you were using the expensive models or entry levels – they all looked and felt the same. With the launch of the Nokia Lumia and the merge Windows Mobile, I fell in love again. Now, if my second mention of the word love (third) is offending you, kindly tip-ex it out on your screen.
The Nokia Lumia is a beast compaired to their other devices. Besides it boasting with Windows OS – it is packed with features. Packed with features alomst similar to those of the N9… wait, the N9 is actually better – only to conclude that the Lumia is just a glorified N9. Well here’s how.
The design of the two hadsets is the same, and almost the same size, display on the Lumia is only better on paper, but one cannot differentiate – ok enough! this review is that of the Lumia and not the N9, geeze!
Nokia made a wise move on the Windows OS, despite a few minor glitches. Overall the device is great and it is Nokia at its best. I took the Nokia along during my Easter trip to Zeerust, well it was to a small village a mere 2km away from the Botswana border. With the device fully charged from my starting point (Bloemfontein) it lasteste a mere 4hrs with the Nokia Drive and music connectivty on (thank goodness for that car charger). And that was just untill 30km away from our destination. The 8 mega pixel Carl Zeiss camera never disappoints (not hat it has) and is even better at night, outside for taking shots around the bushfire.
Overall I loved the Nokia Lumia 800.
