… not that bright though!
|Flash! Friday 21h00 on SABC 3|
SABC 3’s Flash! created much hype on local online platforms due to its season 2 debut episode. After much anticipation and because we at SAfrica Vibe like things, we simply had to tune in.
I was more eager than anything else to see who the new presenter of the show will be, will it be Jen Sue, Khula, Khanyi Mbau or another white gossip lady we have never seen or heard of before? But no, seeing that it is a new season and all they had to keep things local and relevant of course. Someone we can all relate to (Sort of), Tbo Touch (Metro Fm DJ) popped up on my screen. i simply can’t stand the poor guy, whether it is his strange, somewhat funny accent or the fact that he tries too hard to pronounce some English words I ask myself all the time, I love his hustle as issues like this never get him down. He’s doing his thing and for sure you’ll see him for a long time on your screen. Another object that stood out for me was the tablet on the table. I know blogs are all about the digital word and yes we at SAfrica Vibe pride ourselves at using the worlds leading and up-to-date gadgets – but you simply have to draw the line. Just like tablets are no-no at a fashion show, so are they on a TV show/programme unless you are going to use them. To our understanding the show is not live, therefore no live twitter or facebook feeds are read on the show nor does the presenter refer to the tablet for his script. So please get rid of it, or find a worthy use for it. I actually kept my eyes on it the whole time, never mind the pictures and footage that were flashing on my screen.
In the press release for Flash! it was mentioned that the show is going to be ‘short and a lot pacier.’ well guys, this was waaaay pacier!! We love the content as it is VERY much up-to-date and on point (10 out of 10 for that) but at least give us time to adjust to it all!
Flash! is stated to be flashy and fast, maybe I am too slow for these kind of shows? Either way, we love it when blogs come alive to TV!
